Sebbene Justin Broadrick viaggi su una media di 3/4 dischi l'anno il suo progetto Jesu era fermo da un po': l'ultimo album è la collaborazione con Sun Kil Moon intitolata "30 Seconds To The Decline Of Planet Earth" uscito nel 2017, mentre per trovare un disco "solo Jesu" bisogna andare indietro al 2013, anno di "Everyday I Get Closer To The Light From Which I Came".

Questo "Never" è un EP di 30 minuti che non stravolge le amate caratteristiche del progetto: shoegaze elettronico per amanti del post-metal e del post rock più oscuro. Gli amanti degli Jesu adoreranno soprattutto i primi due brani "Because Of You" e "Never There For You", il resto è un po' più sfilacciato e meno ispirato.

Non un passo falso ma neanche considerabile un vero e proprio disco, "Never" è consigliato esclusivamente ai completisti.
